Art History

This series was inspired by years of teaching art history survey courses. In it I allowed art history to comment on contemporary life, often in a humorous manner. Making no great strides, the first I did in the series, is inspired by Egyptian canons (2700-1000 BCE), but the top and bottom halves are going in opposite directions, as Anubis, the death god (this pace will kill you) joins in with the other striding figures. For all our striding we seem to go nowhere. Other works reference the most ancient of cave art, Cycladic art, and a whole lot of Minoan acrobats and bull jumping.
